Timed Up and Go apps come in three kinds:
- Stopwatch apps: someone times you and taps. Total time only.
- A phone carried on the body: in a pocket or at the waist, its motion sensors time the test. No one has to hold a stopwatch.
- Camera apps: a phone films the test. Nothing is worn, and you can check the replay.
Only some apps time the six phases (standing up, walking out, turning, walking back, turning to sit, sitting down), and few have published evidence for the TUG itself.
